UWRI: Family Volunteering on the Farm

Are you a fan of the classic television show Green Acres?

On Saturday, September 23, United Way of Rhode Island gives your family the opportunity to be farmers for the day — no green thumbs required. The best part — it’s for a great cause.

Westbay Farm is a working vegetable farm that sits upon three picturesque acres in Warwick, Rhode Island. They produce 15,000 pounds of organic vegetables per year; much of it for the Westbay Marketplace Food Pantry.

Volunteers will help the farmer harvest the remainder of this season’s crops in preparation for the cold winter ahead. Take advantage of this free event and register today.
