You’ve helped the community — now let MyFund help you.
Congratulations, your taxes are done. If you’re anything like me, you’re already thinking about ways to maximize your tax benefits for the year ahead — which can sometimes be challenging.
As we all know, the passage of tax reform increased the standard deduction, which decreased the benefit of charitable giving. But what if there were a way to deduct your charitable contributions without increasing the amount you give annually — would you be interested?
Well, I have great news for you: MyFund can help.
MyFund 2.0, we’ve done it again.
Two years ago, United Way of Rhode Island simplified giving with the launch of MyFund — our innovative donor-advised fund created with annual giving in mind. Now, we’ve made giving even easier with the announcement of our multi-year MyFund.
This new version allows you to consolidate two to three years of charitable giving into one gift, take the combined tax benefit in a single year, and use your gift to make donations to any 501(c)(3) in the country. We are excited to say, this now includes schools and churches.
Helping Rhode Islanders, together.
Giving is about more than just a tax write-off, it’s about making a difference. Although your multi-year MyFund account is free, we ask you to give at least 10% of your gift to our Community Impact Fund. 100% of the money donated to this fund goes to support the services and programs that make a lasting difference in the lives of Rhode Islanders.
We understand that each person’s situation is unique and encourage you to consult your tax attorney or accountant before making any financial decisions. In the meantime, if you have any questions, or would like a personal demonstration, please contact me or another member of United Way’s Resource Development team.
Until then, enjoy your post-tax filing life — you’ve earned it.
