As part of our strategic plan, Live United 2020, we released three Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for our 2016‒2019 grant cycle on September 8, 2015. Rhode Island-based nonprofit organizations and consortiums were invited to apply by submitting a Letter of Intent.
We received 224 proposals that were put through a rigorous review process and scored by a diverse group of 100 community volunteers. Organizations awarded funding will receive their grant monies beginning on July 1, 2016, and grant awards will be made on an annual basis, renewable for years two and three, dependent on fund availability and grantee performance. Of the proposals receiving funds, 35 percent are from organizations that have not previously received funding from UWRI. Click here for more information.
