Providence Community Health Centers & Choosing Wisely RI Campaign

Join the 2-1-1 team at United Way of Rhode Island on Thursday, May 9, for the seventh session of Community Connections: A Social Services Informational Series. Community Connections highlights social services programs, policy updates, and upcoming events, and provides a space for community partners to connect with one another.

This two-part session features Providence Community Health Centers (PCHC) and the Choosing Wisely RI campaign.

According to their website, PCHC “provides quality primary health care services that are affordable, comprehensive and culturally sensitive to more than 50,000+ residents of Providence and its surrounding areas.” Their services include behavioral health, dental care, family medicine, gynecology and obstetrics, internal medicine, optometry, pediatrics, and urgent care.

Organized and promoted by the Rhode Island Business Group on Health, the Choosing Wisely RI campaign “promotes productive conversations between patients and doctor — conversations that research shows produce the right level of care and go a long way towards eliminating tests, procedures, and medications that provide little, if any benefit.”

This event is free and open to the public.
