Women United in partnership with the Afterschool Leadership Circle of United Way of Rhode Island will be hosting a program model focused on engaging activities that build literacy and STEM for children in grades K-2. The Spur Talent Through Early Mentoring Program will introduce the Immersion curriculum – easy, fun activities focused on local marine life that encourages students to understand the impact of changes in the environment. A Women United member will assist an afterschool educator to deliver this fun curriculum.
Program: The program will be held on 11/9, 11/10, 11/16, 11/17, 12/7, 12/8, 12/14 and 12/15 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm at Gladstone Elementary School, 50 Gladstone Street, Cranston, or Children’s Workshop, 151 Hunt Street, Central Falls.
Feel free to choose one day or as many as your schedule allows at the location most convenient for you. No preparation is needed and whether you have attended the orientation or not, you can still sign up to have a rewarding hands-on experience with children participating in STEM-based activities.
